# Google Drive

ExpanDrive connects to Google's API and turns Drive into a fast network drive, making your entire account available from any app on your desktop.

ExpanDrive uses [OAuth authentication](/security.md#oauth-authentication). You sign in with Google, which returns a token that ExpanDrive stores in your operating system's credential store.

## Connection Parameters

### Nickname

The nickname identifies this connection on your machine. This name is used as the volume label on the mounted drive.

### Account

The account you used for authenticating is displayed. You cannot change this value.
