Object Storage

Object-storage services organize data in buckets and commonly authenticate with access keys, OAuth, or temporary credentials. A connection can expose all accessible buckets or start at a specific bucket or folder when the provider and credentials support that scope.

  • Amazon S3 also documents several services that use the S3 API.

  • Backblaze B2 uses a B2 Key ID and Application Key.

  • Google Cloud Storage uses Google OAuth and can start at a specific bucket or folder.

  • IDrive e2 uses a regional endpoint and access-key pair.

  • Wasabi uses a regional service URL and access-key pair.

Use credentials limited to the buckets and actions the mounted drive requires. Supplying a bucket name is also necessary when the credentials can access a bucket but cannot list every bucket in the account.
