# IDrive e2

IDrive e2 is an S3-compatible object storage service. ExpanDrive mounts an IDrive e2 bucket using its regional endpoint and access keys.

## Connection Parameters

### Server

Enter the [regional endpoint](https://www.idrive.com/s3-storage-e2/region-endpoints) for your IDrive e2 account. Access keys are specific to the endpoint where they were created.

### Access Key

The access key is your unique identifier for authentication. Keys can be generated from the Access Keys tab of the IDrive e2 account.

### Secret Key

The secret key is your private authentication key that pairs with your access key. This is like a password.

When you save the connection, ExpanDrive stores the secret key in your operating system's [credential store](/security.md#credential-storage).

### Nickname

The nickname identifies the connection and appears as the volume label on the mounted drive.
