# Application Removal

Remove ExpanDrive using the standard method for your operating system.

## Windows

Uninstall ExpanDrive using the Windows Control Panel's standard methods for removing programs.

Windows displays an *ExpanDrive Shell Extension Cleanup* administrator prompt while it removes the File Explorer integration. The desktop and taskbar can disappear briefly while Explorer restarts. If another application still has an ExpanDrive shell-extension file open, Windows can leave that locked file behind until the application exits or the computer restarts.

## macOS

Drag ExpanDrive to the Trash.

## Linux

To remove ExpanDrive from a Debian- or Ubuntu-based distribution, run:

```bash
sudo apt remove expandrive
```

For a RHEL-, Fedora-, or CentOS-based distribution, run:

```bash
sudo yum remove ExpanDrive
```

If you installed an `.AppImage` file, delete that file to uninstall ExpanDrive.
