Installation instructions for ExpanDrive on Windows

First, you need to download the latest release of ExpanDrive for Windows. If you need an older release you can find it here.

Installation package options

On Windows you have two different options to pick from for installer packages. Most people should pick the "User Installer" package, which is what the default is when you click the large button. This installer loads the application inside the user profile and allows for seamless auto-updates. If you're looking to deploy on a multi-user system you should select the MSI based installer, which installs into C:\Program Files by default, but doesn't provide an auto-update mechanism.

Requirements

ExpanDrive runs on 32 and 64-bit Windows 7 and newer, including Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows server edition. You must have admin access, or somebody who can provide it to you, in order to complete installation. However, once installation is complete you can use ExpanDrive without admin access. Additionally you can use the built-in auto-updater without admin access.
