# Nextcloud

ExpanDrive mounts a Nextcloud instance as a drive so you can work with its files from desktop applications.

## Connection Parameters

### Server

The base URL of the Nextcloud installation. This is a domain name, subdomain, or IP address, followed by the path where Nextcloud is installed. The path is typically `/nextcloud`, or the root of the server when Nextcloud is the only application running. For example, `https://example.com/nextcloud` or `https://cloud.example.com`.

### Username

The username assigned for your access to the server.

### Password

ExpanDrive stores the password in your operating system's [credential store](/security.md#credential-storage).

### Nickname

The nickname identifies this connection on your machine. This name is used as the volume label on the mounted drive.
