# Nextcloud

ExpanDrive supports conecting to Nextcloud, a fork of Owncloud. You can connect to your Nextcloud instance and manage your files.

## Connection Parameters

### Server

Enter the base URL used to access the Nextcloud installation. This could be a domain name, subdomain, or IP address followed by the path to the Nextcloud installation, often "/nextcloud" or the root directory of the server if it's the only application running. For example, `https://example.com/nextcloud` or `https://cloud.example.com`

### Username

This is the username assigned for your access to the server.&#x20;

### Password

Your password is saved [securely](/security.md#authentication) in the macOS Keychain or the Windows credentials vault.

### Nickname

The nickname identifies this connection on your machine. This name is used as the volume label on the mounted drive.
